"the person u r with right now in a situation that requires dependency on the person." (in this case, if u say taxi driver, then it sounds reasonable. Because we depend on the taxi driver to take us thru the right route and finally reach our destination)

Coz to me the answer "the person u r with right now" is not quite complete. Let's say we r in a bus going to sch, the person who is sitting next to us is not important (this is only applicable if we are sitting at the outer part of the bus seat, because if we sit next to the window pane, we depend on the person who sits next to us to let us out, right?). And, I dun think everyone gives 100% of our attention, listening or responding to ANY person who is with us right now. For this, I give an example of an irritating person who keeps talking, non stop. And we as listeners may not give 100% attention to watever he/she is saying. We may be pretending that we are listening but in actual fact, we are thinking about something else. And that, doesn't make the talkative person important.

Wells, that's just my point of view.
